Late Roman, early 5th C Gold and gemstones (BZ.1928.8-13) The preservation of this group of jewelry suggests that is was buried for safety from either the Visigothic or Hunnish threats to Rome in the fifth century. The finely carved and carefully matched gemstones are evidence of the coloristic style of personal adornment in late Antique jewelry
