After a massive 45 manuscripts added on Monday alone, the BAV slowed down and added a total of 55 this week. One interesting manuscript digitized is Vat.lat.7139, a 17th C. compilation of several catalogues of other Vatican manuscripts, specifically some in Greek and Hebrew. The Hebrew section is interesting because it claims to be in the hand, or at least under the supervision, of Carlo Borreomeo
The Romance of Alexander the Great was one of the great popular stories of the Middle Ages. Vat.lat.7190 is not the most lovely copy, but has a fascinating series of illustrations at the bottom of the pages, depicting the story in a crude but recognizable series of paired images. F.1v, to the right, has Philip II receiving an omen about his son, on the left, while the birth of Alexander is depicted on the right
