There were 38 manuscripts added added to the online repository of the Vatican Libraries this week. A rare Fond made an appearence this week with the addition of Sire.Q.1, a copy, in Portuguese, of the proclemation of the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception of Mary from the 1860s.

Ott.lat.3132 is another early 14th C Digests of Justinian with commentary, in the usual 2-column, inside/outside layout. I have no idea if there is a more formal name to this style, but it is extremely common in legal manuscripts of the period. There is a small miniature at the start of each chapter with a monarch, probably representing Justinian, dispensing justice. F.48v to the right seems to depict a contract dispute, with one of the parties presenting a sealed charter to the court. It is hard to see due to the resolution of the image served by the BAV website, but there are small faces in each of the capitol letters of the initial words, "POST ACtiones"

The bottom border is from the title page of Vat.lat.3716 (f.2r), a copy of Liber in quo appelatio de Testimoniis Juris divini et naturalis humanique, by one Rodoric, bishop of Zamorenus (Spain)
