Despite being the week leading up to Christmas, forty-six manuscripts were added to the repository this week. Unsurprisingly, the majority were from the Reg.lat fond, with Vat.lat.9xxx completing almost all of the remainder, Ott.lat, Pal.lat each contributed one and a few other regions of Vat.lat made a showing as well to round out the collection.

Coming online this week is what is perhaps the first manuscript in Czech, Reg.lat.601. It is the earliest witness to the Czech translation of Eneas Silvius Piccolomini's (Pope Pius II) Historie česká. This text covers Bohemian history from "the earliest times" through the reigh of King George of Poděbrady, and was written in Latin c. 1457, although the autograph does not survive. The copy preserved here is the later Czech translation and dates to the early part of the 16th C. To the right is f.12v, which contains some part of the text. Although I cannot read Czech, it is interesting to note that all proper names are underlined in red

At the bottom is a line from f.94v of Reg.lat.1046, the Acts of the Second Council of Nicea. This element lists Bishop Hadrian of Constantinople in the list of attendees of the late 8th C council. This witness to the text was made in Reims during the episcopate of Hincmar of Reims.
