In total fifty manuscripts were digitized this week. The pattern of the previous few weeks was mostly continued, but with Vat.lat contributing the most manuscripts at eighteen, and Ross and Pal.lat following with ten each. Work on Barb.lat continues apace, with seven, and Urb.ebr and Vat.ebr each contributed a single volume. Interestingly the three from Ott.lat are more volumes of drawings by Pier Luigi Ghezzi, suggesting that this was a specific goal and we might see the rest of those volumes in the coming weeks.

To the right is the first real page, although it is f.2r, from Ross.1101, a Pharmacopia by Jacopo de Filippo de Monte del Ulmo. Although the rubric and some of the text has faded, the illustration of the pharmacist. standing with his mortar on a table strewn with herbs, the flag depicting the Rota Fortuna, Christ in Judgement, and various arms, is quite clear. His outfit seems to have additional over-sleeves to protect his shirt, which is an interesting possible reflection of period practice for working pharmacists

The bottom border is the dating from the colophon on f.108r of Barb.lat.90, which dates the manuscript to "three days before the nones of August, 1454". This would be rendered "August 3, 1454" modernly. As the Nones of August fall on the 5th, and Roman-style counting is includive, thus "three days before the Nones of August" becomes August 3.
