A full sixty-one manuscripts were digitized this week, perhaps the last working week of 2023. In what has started to become a new pattern, Barb.lat was the most populous fond, with twenty-three manuscripts, though unusually Vat.lat follows it with thirteen. The smaller contributions came from Ott.lat with six, Barb.gr with five, and Vat.turc with three. Both P.I.O and Reg.gr added two, and single manuscripts were contributed by the two rare fonds, Patteta and Vat.pers. Despite being poorly publicized and minimally digitized, the Patteta fond has more than 5,000 volumes in it.

To the right is f.1r, the starting page, of Vat.lat.106550, a copy of Thomas Aquinas' Catena Aurea in Sancti Marci (Commentary on the Gospel of Mark) from the tail end of the 13th C. The Evangelist can be seen in the large capitol R at the top left. At his feet is the typical bizarre looking medieval lion, his emblem.

At the bottom is a part of the white-vine borders from the title page, f.1r of Ott.lat.1686. This is a 15th C Italian (duh) copy of Cicero's De Oficiis. The bottom of the page, not shown here, includes the arms of the Castelli family of Genoa.
