A total of nineteen manuscripts were digitized this week, perhaps quiet due to the lead-up to Pentecost. Of those eleven came from Vat.lat, five from Ott.lat and one each from Barb.lat, Capp.sist, and Chig.
To the right is f.2r from Ott.lat.113, the first book of the City of God (the one by St. Augustine, not the 2002 Movie, or the novel, by Michael Jahn). This 15th C copy was decorated in a Humanist style, with full white vine borders enhabited by birds and putti. The large initial G has Augustine himself seeing a vision of the celestial city.
At the bottom is a line of polyphonic music from f.20v of Capp.Sist.99, which was written in 1689. This page opening contains the start of a six-voice setting of the "Te Deum"
