Although the Vatican is still sede vacante, with the conclave not scheduled to start until the 7th of May, the library was working this week, adding twenty-eight manuscripts to their repositories. These came from a wide range of collections, with the most, still only eleven, coming from Ott.lat. Following that, Barb.lat contributed seven and Vat.lat added three. Both Capp.Giulia and Capp.Sist.Diari added two, and a single volume was added from the main Capp.Sist collection, Barb.gr, and Comb.
To the right is f.16v of Vat.lat.11153, a copy of Justinian's Codex Repetitae Praelectionis written in the early 14th C, with glosses by Franciscus Accursius. These glossed books of Roman law often come in this format, two column pages, with each column split into an inner section of main text, and an outer frame of commentary. The commentary is linked to the relevant text with small letters and symbols.
