Vatican Manuscripts Added Week 11 of 2026

Only ten manuscripts were digitized this past week, six from Ott.lat, four from Comb. This follows the recent pattern of relatively small output weeks consisting mainly of those two fonds. This brings the Comb fond to 166 of 281 digitized, and Ott.lat 20 1,797 of 3,379.

To the right is a drawing of a cameo found on f.77r of Ott.lat.2391, part of a multi-volume collection cataloguing various stone cameo collections. This one depicts Hades offering a treat to Cerberus, or so it appears

At the bottom is a line of text from p.57 of Comb.F.36. This section of the manuscript contains a text called the ጠቢበ ጠቢባን (Ṭabiba Ṭabibān or Sage of Sages). This is a prayer in the form of a metrical poem addressed to the divine. The title can be seen on the second line of red text on the left.
