A solid showing this week, with fifty-five manuscripts digitized, forty-six of those were uploaded on Friday. The vast majority, forty-four, came from the Ott.lat fond. The bulk of the remaining came from Barberini fonds, with five from Barb.lat, two from Barb.or and one from Barb.ar. All of the remaining contributions were single volumes, one each from Capp.sist, Comb, and Vat.lat
To the right is f.3v from Ott.lat.1646, a distinctively humanist copy of Leonardo Bruni's translation of Plutarch's Vita Marci Antonii. Although not a large book, at 18x10cm, the illuminated initials that start sections, as seen here, are massive. These gold letters on blue, with white vine work, nearly fill the page, only leaving a few lines for a rubric and the start of the section.
At the bottom is a fragment of the top border from f.1r of Ott.lat.1952. This is a 14th C copy of Solinus' Collectanea rerum memorabilium a collection of facts and "facts" about the natural world, organized through geography.
