Vatican Manuscripts Added Week 11 of 2021

Thirty manuscripts were added this week, including several items of Armenian liturgy and another palm-leaf manuscript from the Vat.ind collection. Continuing the work from last week, two more volumes of drawings by Pier Leone Ghezzi were uploaded, making eight of the nine volumes donated by the Marquis of Vulci available online.

Among the Vat Lat collection past 14,666 that has been digitized recently are multiple albums of fragments, taken from bindings and other places within the library. One of these, Vat.lat.14872 contains liturgical fragments from the 11th-15th centuries, may with musical neumes. To the right is f.56r, a 12th C Antiphonal fragment from central Italy. It contains some music for the first Sunday in Lent.

The bottom border is a line of text from Vat.lat.4597, a 15th C copy of Q. Curtius Rufus' History of Alexander the Great. This copy contains an autograph copy of the preface by Angeli Decembrii. The text is from the top of f.17r
