In total fifty-two manuscripts were digitized this week. Following recent patterns, the majority, forty, were added on monday and the remaining twelve on friday. The manuscript distribution is a bit unusual, with no significant single fond. Barb.lat and Vat.lat each contributed fourteen, Ott.lat nine, and Ross six. Continuing with the influx of Arabic manuscripts, Borg.ar also contributed six, Barb.or and Borg.turc added one each, and the week was completed with a single volume from the Cappella Sistina.

The image to the right is from Capp.sist.2, an 18th C Antiphonal that was used in the Sistine Chapel. This page, f.153r is the start of Matins for Holy Saturday, the verse In pace in idipsum.

The bottom image is a line of text from f.24r from Ott.lat.175. This is a Consuetudines Monasticae (Monastic Customary) from about the year 1100. The Customary is commentary, explaination and emendation to the Rule of St. Benedict, the foundation of the monastic life. This line of text ends with a rubric, red text, "G[re]g[orius] Ut...", introducing the next section of text. This is important because if one looks very carefully into the far right margin of the leaf, you can see the rubric text copied in the same ink and hand as the main text, as instruction to the rubricator who would come along once the page was complete to add the red words. Ordinarily this relic of scribal practice would have been lost to the trimming and binding process, but here it is preserved.
