During the past week forty-three manuscripts were digitized into the Vatican repository. Following the pattern of recent weeks, the largest contributor was Ott.lat with twenty-two. The Barberini family followed, with seven from Barb.lat and five from Barb.gr. P.I.O added four, three from the slav subsection and one from the main collection, Vat.gr added two, and one each came from Capp.giulia, Vat.ar and Vat.turc. Unusually no manuscripts were digitized from the largest fond, Vat.lat.
The collection of Cardinal Ottoboni is organized somewhat thematically, meaning that there are often several copies of the same text near each other. The 1500-1700 range contains classical authors, and that includes Sallust, from whom came two manuscripts. The image to the right is from f.1r of Ott.lat.1664, on of the a 15th C copies of his The Cataline Conspiricy, and The Jugurthine War. This volume also contains the less common Jugurtha Epitaphs.
At the bottom is a fragment from f.1r of Barb.gr.532, a mid 16th C collection of Greek Hagiography made for Marcello Cardinal Cervini. This particular element was at the start of the "Vita S. Antonius" by Athanasius of Alexandria
