Only twenty-eight manuscripts were digitized this past week. We are back to the recent pattern, with eighteen of the manuscripts coming from Barb.lat. Four each came from Capp.Sist.Diari and Ott.lat, and one each from Capp.sist and S.Maria.Magg. The last one is of note as it was a higher-quality scan of S.Maria.Magg.1, and tracking shelfmark 1 was the first ad hoc query implemented.
To the right is f.1v from Ott.lat.1460, one of the several double-page ink drawings in this manuscript. The text is Domenico Jacovacci Il Cacciatore posto insieme. Jacovacci is mostly known to history as confidant and Maestro delle strade (supervisor of the urban infrastructure of Rome) to Alexander VII Chigi, and perhaps the conduit through which Bernini met the pope. This book, unrelated to either art or his urban responsibilities, details the responsibilities of the Master of the Hunt. The image shows a great deal of realism, down to the small dog in the middle defecating during the hunt preparations.
Below is a snippet from the title-page of Barb.lat.2690, found on f.1r of the manuscript. This contains a series of Acta relating to the Chaldean Church, probably referring to Aramaic-speaking Assyrians.
