Only sixteen manuscripts were digitized in the past week. Unusually the largest number, fully half, came from the Comb collection This collection of primarily Ethiopic liturgical manuscripts came from the personal collection of Daniele Comboni, founder of Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus. Of the remaining manuscripts, seven came from Ott.lat and a single volume from S.Maria.Magg.
To the right is f.3r from Ott.lat.1757, a 13th C copy of Papias's Elementarium, considered one of the first true dictionaries. This manuscript is incomplete, the main text was finished, but none of the larger capitol letters were added in. Still visible are the small letters in the open spaces, all 'a's on this page, which were left as indications for the rubricator, to be erased when the larger letters were completed.
At the bottom is a bit of the header decoration from f.5r of Comb.G1, a 19th C manuscript containing an Ethiopic translation of a sermon by Ya'qub za-Serug
