The Library has been on vacation the last two weeks, but started back up this week with twenty-eight manuscripts digitized. Exactly half of these were from the Ott.lat collection, and the rest were evenly spread across Barb.lat and Capp.Giulia, each with five, and Vat.lat with four.
To the right is f.1r from Ott.lat.3294, a 1434 copy of various theological works, beginning with Remigius of Auxerre's incomplete Commentary on Matthew (There is a working copy of a Critical Edition available as a word doc). Despite being in a rather compact German-style (?) cursive hand, this text begins with a huge decorated capitol A, and has traces of other decorations as well. The work on digitizing the Ott.lat collection has been ongoing for many months, and this week sees it cross the 2,300 mark for completed volumes. According to the Library, there are 3,379 items in the Fond, so there is still much work to do.
At the bottom is a line of music from f.1v of Capp.Giulia.II.1.pt.bis. This is one of the five manuscripts of Mass settings by Giuseppe Ottavio Pitoni, all autograph copies, digitized this week. This particular line, labeled for the Canto, is from the start of the Messa Venturina for four voices.
