A new pattern seems to be emerging, another slow week brings twenty-nine new manuscripts to the repositories. As with last week, Ott.lat brings in the most, with eleven, followed by seven Barb.lat, and six Chigiani musical volumes. Three Capp.sist volumes, and one each Barb.grand Vat.gr complete the weeks work.
Manuscripts of the work of Raymund Llull often contain elaborate and complex programs of illustration, and Ott.lat.832 is no exception. To the right is an untitled illustration from f.6r which shows a row of angels above a row of Old Testament prophets, above a row of Apostles. Interestingly only ten apostles are shown, with Peter (keys) and Paul (sword) being the only ones easily identifiable.
At the bottom is part of the border from f.1r of Capp.sist.321, a 19th C copy of Palestrina's Motets. Although this manuscript was copied in 1830, as per the title page, it maintains the 16th C mensural notation of the original.
