A total of thirty-one manuscripts were digitized during the past week, all but two of them being uploaded on Friday. The largest fraction, ten, came from Ott.lat, with Barb.lat and relative newcomer Capp.Giulia adding six each. Both Capp.Sist and Vat.lat added two, and one each from Capp.Sist.Diari, Chig, and Ferr.
To the right is f.3r from Ott.lat.3293, a 15th C copy of St. Bernardino of Siena's Le Prediche Volgari. These were sermons he preached during Lent of 1427, in Italian, and sometimes lasting several hours. They were transcribed and collected at the time, although the original manuscript is now lost. This volume was added to the Vatican collection from the Library of the House of Salviati in 1776.
At the bottom is a line of beautiful Caroline script from f.12v of Ott.lat.3296, a late 9th or 10th C volume of the sermons of John Chrysostom. An interesting detail about this manuscript is that it was rebound and trimmed late in its life, after the pages had stretched, meaning that the block of text is not square to the very carefully square parchment.
